  • Another option is to file a common law tort lawsuit. This option grants victims compensatory damages for things like lost wages and health care expenses, or punitive damages, which is a monetary settlement that is awarded to the victim of sexual harassment as punishment to the company.
  • A dual filing allows you to file a case with more than one agency. This may also happen when the EEOC refers your case to a state agency.
  • When the harassment crosses another legal boundary, such as sexual assault or rape, go immediately to the police.
